Savers Are Still Reclaiming Bank Charges

Consumers are continuing to reclaim bank charges and this practice has been fuelled by the current economic climate, claims a financial advisor

Savers are more likely to take advantage of this as the cost of living is rising during the credit crunch, according to needanadvisor.com.

Jo Roberts, director of the company, said: "People will go as far as they can, but if it's a few pounds they're not going to take it too far. Likewise if it's a hundred they probably will."

Ms Roberts has claimed that while the reclaiming of bank charges is "rife" it will eventually to come to an end as the number of claimants dwindles.

"Give it another six months and everybody that is going to claim probably will have. New claims will fall away," she added.

Research by the Consumer Action Group revealed that a total of £18,312,146 has so far been returned to 9824 people.
